CONVERSE BLOCK PARTY 2011

The Converse Block Party is a street level event deeply rooted in skate, basketball, music and street culture. On a sunny Saturday afternoon, all these different elements will unite with vibrant local cultures and people from the community with the spirit of Star Chevron through sports, music, food, fashion and art.

 

Nu-Mark began DJ-ing at the age of 13 in Los Angeles. Over the course of the last two decades, he has amassed a collection of over 35,000 records and refined his production skills and performance to the point where he is widely recognized as one of the key figures in DJ culture.

 

To date, Nu-Mark has been featured in the critically acclaimed documentaries “Scratch”, “KeepinTime”, “Coachella: The Movie,” “Rock the Bells – The Documentary” and most recently in Mac Grubber. He’s also appeared on countless TV Shows with Jurassic 5, including David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel and Craig Ferguson.

Skate enthusiats & wannnabes can catch the best dudes displaying their twists, jumps, flips & twirls on their skateboards. Challenge them if you can. Want to pick up skating as your new hobby? Join in the clinic! Learn a trick or two. We'll give you a shirt if you do.

Local street culture comes alive via ART. Floor Graffiti hit the streets at *SCAPE, where both professionals & amateurs come together to celebrate what they like doing the most - ART. Show off creativity with your shoe design & win attractive prizes.

 

Cath our special guest Radikal Force & Pushin' On in action! Want to be a DJ? Get your hands on the console & learn to mix tunes with professional guidance from 7-8pm. Let down your hair, dance & groove along with Funk, Hip Hop & Soul tunes from 8-10pm.
