Converse Celebrates Wearers of Chuck Taylor All Star Sneakers
Date: April 11, 2015
Countless of stories have been narrated through the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers (or otherwise nicknamed Chucks), which are presented as blank canvases for moments of creativity, self-expression and adventure. Every scuff, stain and embellishment is a mark of one’s identity and his/her journey.
Today, Converse celebrates the ones who have gone through thick and thin, tumbled and emerged victorious in their Chucks, through its “Made by you” photobooth pop-up at Bugis Junction. The one-day pop-up was a culmination of Converse’s “Made by you” portrait exhibition, which runs from 2 March to 15 April 2015.
Participants of all shapes and styles brought their well-worn Chucks to the photobooth for a snap. The shots of their sneakers were key to creating their sneaker portraits, which were completed with their signatures. After the portraits were printed out, they were framed and packaged in an exclusive “Made by you” carrier case.
Globally, more than 200 pairs of beloved and distinctively personal Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers have been collected in creating a series of sneaker portraits. Each pair of sneakers tells a story of the transformation from a blank canvas to a self-portrait of their owners.
